Bitcoin Solved a Problem

Bitcoin was launched in 2009. For 15 years, advocates of sound money, cryptography, and decentralized systems were scoffed at and marginalized. Even today, most people struggle to understand and explain what Bitcoin is and why it has meaning.

People are now taking Bitcoin seriously because money itself has become a problem. People are rightfully losing confidence in their ability to store and transfer value in the form of the US dollar and other currencies.

All good products and services solve a problem for the consumer. People do not care about a product unless it solves a problem for them. The weakening of the US dollar presents a problem and Bitcoin is the solution.

Bitcoin is differentiated from other crypto and is uniquely positioned as a solution for money because of its history and ethos. Bitcoin’s “satoshi ethos” is based on its fair launch by ethically driven cypherpunks who valued decentralization, security, and accessibility.

The Next Big Problem

While more and more people are beginning to realize the power of Bitcoin as a solution to money, a new problem is rapidly advancing: artificial intelligence (AI).

By the time most people realize that AI is a problem, the rate of acceleration will be so steep that their window of opportunity for understanding the problems and solutions will be miniscule. Fortunately, the solution to superintelligent ai is fundamentally the same as the solution to money: decentralization.

The Next Big Solution

The solution to AI decentralization requires a sort of “Bitcoin 3.0”, a scaleable and decentralized virtual machine. In other words, the future of AI is a trustless planetary scale supercomputer.

The reason why this is the best and only solution to superintelligent AI, is because it is irrational to believe that centralized entities will successfully wield the full power of super-AI.

The notion of a lesser intelligent being controlling a greater intelligence, is nonsensical.

Nobody knows as much as everybody. When organisms combine and coordinate their intelligence, their combined intelligence is greater than the sum of their individual parts. This is true at all scales from cells, to ants, to human beings.

Our best chance at working in synergy with superintelligent AI is for humans to operate the AI as a sort of coordinate neural network.

Scaling Satoshi

One of the reasons why Bitcoin achieved greater decentralization was because many people didn’t understand it. They doubted it, ignored it, bought and sold it, and even threw Bitcoins in the trash.

Now that more people understand the power of blockchain and cryptocurrency, the chronology of Bitcoin can never be duplicated. Thus, a strategy for decentralization could include leveraging Bitcoin’s distribution and ethos.

Bitcoin itself should continue as the fundamental PoW network. Scaling can be achieved with a new, more advanced network, built for Bitcoin cypherpunks.

Ideally, it will be an infinitely scaleable, turing complete, DAG. The trick will be to launch without insiders, VC takeover, authoritarian intervention, fully anon, within the Bitcoin community, and with a design for progressive decentralization.

Time is short. The window of opportunity is closing. Fortunately, we have a 5 year head start. Welcome to Zenon.
